A forum for change
Established in 1971, the Journal of Legislation is one of the oldest law journals at Notre Dame Law School and one of the few legislative law reviews in the country. For over five decades, the Journal has fostered productive dialogues on the most pressing legal issues related to legislation and policy reform. The Journal is presently one of the country’s leading legislative law reviews and is a member of the National Conference of Law Reviews.
All articles in the Journal of Legislation concern either proposed or existing legislation or public policy matters. Some articles and student Notes make specific suggestions regarding legislative change. Past authors include U.S. Supreme Court Associate Justice William O. Douglas, Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta, House Speaker Dick Gephardt, U.S. Vice President Walter Mondale, Governor Michael Dukakis, and Senator Chris Dodd.
